GTCC instructor and two students turn trash into treasure as they turn a jet cockpit into a training aid
Published on: October 14, 2024

Under the tutelage of GTCC instructor Bill Kluepfel (center), avionics students Bradley McBride (left) and Tyler Powell headed a project to turn a jet cockpit mockup into a training aid.
At GTCC, students are reimagining outdated aviation equipment to enhance their training. Once destined for the scrap pile, a former business jet cockpit mock-up has been transformed into a valuable avionics training aid. Under the leadership of instructor Bill Kluepfel, students are gaining hands-on experience with modern avionics systems, setting them up for success in the rapidly evolving aviation industry.
"One man's trash became a valuable training resource, giving students the skills to work with next-generation avionics systems," said Kluepfel.
