StrongStart

Photo Gallery: StrongStart will appear here on the public site.

StrongStart is a early learning program designed for parents and caregivers to participate with children aged birth to five in one-on-one, play-based early learning activities includes stories, music and art. This early learning program helps support children's learning and prepare them for success in kindergarten at no cost.

Facilitators are qualified Early Childhood Educators. They provide carefully selected materials and activities that promote the development of social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and early literacy skills necessary for lifelong learning.

Community partners such as the TNRD Public Library, Public Health, and Dental Screening may also be invited to share how they can help support parents, guardian, or caregivers and families. Facilitators are also able to connect families to additional community resources.

Families who wish to participate in StrongStart programs must register using the link below. Please call the StrongStart program you wish to participate in directly for additional registration support and information or click on the name of the school below and you will be taken to that specific StrongStart Facebook page where you can find additional information.

We look forward to your participation in this wonderful free 糖心Swag program!

What should you do if your child is sick?

While we are sensitive to the stress that illness may cause families, we need all unwell participants to stay at home to protect the health and safety of children and staff.

You will need to keep your family at home if you or your child:

  • Has a contagious infection, including pink eye
  • Has a fever over 38 degrees Celsius
  • Is vomiting or has diarrhea
  • Has a skin infection or an undiagnosed rash
  • Has a communicable disease (flus and colds fall into this category)
  • Is not able to participate in all activities, including outdoor play

We require everyone to be symptom-free for a minimum of 24 hours before returning to the StrongStart program and should not have vomited or had diarrhea for 48 hours.

Preventative measures are key!

Preventative measures are key for keeping all the children and families who participate in StrongStart healthy. Please ensure even our youngest participants practice some of these basic measures:

  • Stay home if sick
  • Cough and sneeze into your elbow
  • Wash your hands for at least 30 seconds with soap and water (more if noses and/or mouths have been touched or sneezing has occurred directly into hands)
  • Dispose of used tissues into garbage cans
  • If your child has sneezed on toys or other materials in the program, please let the StrongStart Facilitator know so that the items can be disinfected properly
